Sykes, a quantity surveyor by profession, joins Caddick from a three decade career at Bowmer + Kirkland, where he was most recently regional director for the North West.

In his new role, Sykes will work closely with Caddick’s regional managing director, Ray O’Sullivan, who joined the business when it launched in the region in 2023. Caddick’s West Midlands business has since established a strong foothold, with a pipeline of £1bn and a forward order book of £300m.

Sykes will be seeking to grow Caddick Construction’s presence in the East Midlands, targeting private sector projects in Caddick’s key markets. These include industrial and logistics, high-rise residential and commercial offices.

The targeted expansion will also include work within the public sector as Caddick expands its presence on a range of leading frameworks, including its recent appointment to the Department for Education’s £15bn Construction Framework 2025.

Paul Dodsworth, group managing director at Caddick Construction Group, said, “Paul’s appointment is an important step in our continued regional growth strategy. He brings a wealth of experience, a strong track record of delivering complex projects and a people-focused approach that closely aligns with our values at Caddick.

“As we build on the strong foundations established in the Midlands, expanding into the East Midlands is a significant opportunity for us. With Paul leading the region, we are well positioned to grow, strengthen our client relationships and continue building high-performing teams that will support our long-term ambitions.”
