Lucas Armand seemingly agrees that he didn’t show enough fight in his first career defeat.

Former NFL player Anthony Wint secured a win on his UFC debut in August just eleven days after earning his spot on the roster.

The rising heavyweight star has made it very clear that he wants to remain active, with the promotion granting his wish with another quick turnaround.

Once again, he made the most of this opportunity, with Wint stopping Lucas Armand in 23 seconds this past weekend, though questions were raised over the way the bout ended.

Lucas Armand appears to agree with Daniel Cormier’s scathing assessment of his UFC debut

Lucas Armand was 6-0 with five finishes when he got the call to make his UFC debut Saturday night in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He quickly found himself being overwhelmed by the speed and aggression of Anthony Wint, who got the stoppage after a barrage of punches led to his opponent falling to the floor.

Daniel Cormier questioned Armand’s actions on commentary as soon as the prelim bout was waved off.

“Lucas Armand made a decision in there that he wasn’t going to be able to fight him because he was hitting him, overwhelming him, but it’s not like [how] Court McGee [who lost earlier in the night] got hit with a clean right hand,” Cormier said. “Maybe I’m wrong… Lucas kind of just decided he was done, if I’m being honest. I’m sorry, I’ve got to call a spade a spade.”

Armand addressed the first loss of his career via a video posted on Instagram where it seems that he agrees with some of the harsh comments made by ‘DC’.

The 30-year-old said that those who tuned in watched his “worst performance to date” and that he has no excuses for what went wrong.

Despite his ‘Do or Die’ nickname, Armand admitted that the mental toughness he has displayed in the past wasn’t there on Saturday night.

“I tried really hard to mitigate the pressure of the moment through visualization and I felt good walking into that cage,” he said. “What you saw Saturday night is not what people have come to expect from me when they watch me fight. I’ve fought through a lot of adversity in my career, I’ve fought through a lot of adversity in life and I didn’t show my skillset. I didn’t show my mental toughness. I didn’t show anything of value on Saturday and for that, I apologize.”
