Raul Rosas Jr. reportedly set to fight bantamweight boogeyman a few weeks after UFC Noche

Raul Rosas Jr. reportedly has his next assignment set but bizarrely he is set to miss out on a place at UFC Noche.

Raul Rosas Jr. is usually one of the first fighters who would come to mind when thinking about a UFC Noche event.

The 21-year-old has competed on two Noche UFC events so far, beating both Terence Mitchell and Aoriqileng.

However, despite usually being a shoo-in for a place on the Mexican Independence Day cards, ‘El Nino Problema’ won’t be competing on this coming September 12 event.

Rosas Jr. reportedly set to compete just weeks after Noche UFC

Not long ago, the promotion announced their 2026 Noche UFC card, which will be headlined by a featherweight clash between Jean Silva and Yair Rodriguez.

So far, six Mexican’s will be competing on the card, which isn’t complete as of now.

However, even though the card isn’t fully completed, it doesn’t seem as though the Mexican 21-year-old will be competing in Arizona.

According to AG Fight reports, Rosas Jr. is set to take on bantamweight boogeyman, Raoni Barcelos next on September 26 at the UFC Apex.

The Brazilian has competed 15 times in the premier promotion, winning on 11 occasions, beating several prospects during that time, including Payton Talbott and Said Nurmagomedov.

The 39-year-old is currently riding an impressive five fight winning streak, with his last win having come against Montel Jackson this past April.

Barcelos is currently ranked number eight in the 135lb division while Rosas Jr. is not currently ranked in the top 15 of the division.

Despite that, the Brazilian is only ranked number 13 in the media rankings, while Rosas Jr. still doesn’t have a number next to his name.

Rosas Jr.’s older brother was scheduled to make his promotional debut this Saturday at UFC Vegas 120, however, he was pulled off the card due to a mark on his forehead.
