Henry Cejudo made a successful transition from UFC octagon to boxing ring tonight with a split decision win over Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton.
Cejudo entered Misfits Boxing with arguably the greatest résumé in combat sports as an Olympic gold medalist wrestler, two-weight UFC champion and most recently a RAF Wrestling crossover title. Across the ring was amateur standout and Euphoria star Wanna Walton.

After Deen The Great was forced out of the night’s main event with a shoulder injury, Walton saved the day by stepping in. He even brought Nakisa Bidarian to his first Misfits event as he stepped across enemy lines.
Henry Cejudo vs Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton
‘Triple C’ Henry Cejudo entered yet another new sport tonight as he took on Hollywood star Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton. Despite being 19 years his opponent’s senior, the former UFC star was vastly less experienced in the boxing realm having only had a handful of amateur bouts in his youth.
Often a slow starter, Walton began on the offensive from the very first bell as he showed off the massive chasm in hand speed between the pair. The opening round was pretty much as expected, with Walton’s technical boxing and speed putting him in a dominant position despite wearing some big shots.
Round Two was considerably better for the UFC legend, who grew into his new sport well and hurt Walton with a number of overhand and straight right hands. His leading with a right hand caused trouble for a much younger Walton, who fought at 125lb as recently as December of 2023 and was now at 147lb.
As they headed into the fourth round, Walton’s corner knew that there was a very real possibility of the fight not going his way. They both went hell for leather in the final round, with Cejudo opting to end the round by running to the ropes in celebration.
Two judges scored the bout 39-37 for Cejudo, with the other giving it to Walton by the same score resulting in something of an upset for the MMA star.
