Georges St-Pierre thinks that Aiemann Zahabi didn’t get time to show people his plan at the White House.

Sean O’Malley was looking forward to shaking St-Pierre’s hand after knocking out his Tristar teammate on June 14.

In one of the highlights of the event, O’Malley delivered on his word by stopping Zahabi and immediately saluting the crowd.

While some questioned whether the fight was stopped too early, there was also a big discussion in the aftermath as to what the Canadian’s approach was.

Georges St-Pierre says Aiemann Zahabi didn’t get time to implement his plan following early stoppage

Sean O’Malley was left confused by Aiemann Zahabi’s game plan after beating him at the White House earlier this month.

The Canadian didn’t pressure or engage with ‘Suga’ much, choosing to stay away from him and land leg kicks before he was dropped and finish in the second round.

Having already commented on Zahabi’s loss, Georges St-Pierre recently shared his thoughts on the game plan they were trying to implement and where things went wrong.

“Make sure we don’t get into a straight line with him and don’t come forward in a straight line. It was planned in a way to lose the first round,” he told TheBreakTalk. “Aiemann is a guy that is very good with volume and he’s not a very explosive kind of guy.”

St-Pierre added that while Zahabi was starting to land more leg kicks as the fight went on, he made one mistake and the referee waved the bout off.

“They stopped it I think too fast,” he continued. “I think Aiemann could have recovered and Aiemann has a joker in his game if I can use this expression. He’s very good on the floor and he never really uses it.”

The legendary former welterweight and middleweight champion did stress that it’s Firas Zahabi who comes up with the game plans and that he’s not a coach.

However, he was asked to be in Zahabi’s corner and will occasionally chime in with pieces of advice.

“I think with what he had, that was the best game plan but we unfortunately didn’t see all of it because the fight didn’t last until the end,” St-Pierre reflected.
