Cybertruck was needed to develop the 48 volt architecture that Cybercab uses. This is needed for the unboxed modular construction process. The unboxed process will parallelize making multiple modules at the same time. This will enable ten times faster cybercab production and higher scale and lower cost.
Tesla and the Cybertruck’s lead engineer (Wes Morrill) have described it as a technology development platform. Morrill said Cybertruck was an incredible technology development platform and lives on through Cybercab.
