If you took a look at the latest numbers for the League of Legends Championship Pacific, you might want to double-check the screen. According to the latest data from Esports Charts, the LCP saw its peak viewership collapse from 483,000 down to a modest 174,000.

That is a staggering 64% drop at the top. Total hours watched dipped by 38%, and average concurrent viewers slid from 81,000 down to 50,700.

Dropping nearly two-thirds of your peak audience in a single year is a terrifying slide for a newly rebranded regional league. Naturally, the League of Legends community has stepped up to offer a mix of valid broadcast complaints, existential doom-posting, and classic internet conspiracy theories.

The Levi Retirement and the Looming Shadow Over the LCK

A massive chunk of the community points straight to player star power, specifically the retirement of Vietnamese jungler and regional GOAT, Do “Levi” Khánh. For years, GAM Esports served as the primary content engine for the region. Once Levi hung up his keyboard and GAM’s dominance began to fade, a huge portion of the casual fanbase simply stopped tuning in.

That dynamic triggered a cold reality check across social media. If the LCP loses over half its peak audience because a single regional icon retires, what on earth is going to happen to global LoL esports when Faker eventually calls it a career?

The LCK and Riot Games are undoubtedly watching these numbers while sweating profusely, knowing that replacing an irreplaceable icon is practically impossible.

Two-Man Casts, Missing Desks, and Match-Fixing Allegations

Beyond star power, fans on the English broadcast side are venting about noticeable production cuts. Viewers pointed out that after popular talent like Vestion and panda stepped away, the English stream devolved into a grueling two-person marathon.

Watching the same two casters handle play-by-play, color commentary, and post-game analysis for hours on end makes the broadcast feel stripped-down, especially compared to rival leagues that run full analyst desks with revolving talent panels.

Then, of course, come the tin-foil hats. A vocal contingent of fans claims the region’s drop is tied to match-fixing concerns, comparing the LCP’s gameplay chaos to rumors that have historically plagued the LPL tier-two scene.

Whether match-fixing is actually impacting the numbers or just serving as a convenient excuse for angry bettors, the perception alone is doing serious damage to the league’s credibility.

When One-Team Dominance Fails to Hold the Fort

Combine talent departures with broadcast fatigue, a lack of competitive depth, and dominant single-team narratives that fail to capture international hype, and the LCP’s 2026 slide starts to make complete sense.

Rebuilding a regional league’s audience after its defining superstar steps away is one of the hardest challenges in esports. Unless Riot and local organizers invest in fresh storytelling, revamp the English broadcast experience, and foster a new generation of iconic personalities, the Pacific circuit faces a very long climb to get back to its 2025 high-water mark.
