Saoirse Ronan said her man can be James Bond once he walks the dog. Rumors are swirling that Amazon has already tapped Jack Lowden, star of Slow Horses and husband to Ronan, to be the next 007. Did Lowden’s Slow Horses co-star Gary Oldman start these rumors? Perhaps, but maybe he’s just being method. Spycraft is half intelligence gathering, half disseminating what you’ve learned. Also gadgets.

The whole thing started when Oldman went on The Morning Show (real Canadian TV program and not the Apple TV show of the same name) and said, “Jack, it’s been rumored that he’s on the shortlist.” The Associated Press went to Ronan with the rumors, which she dismissed as inessential compared with tasks such as getting dinner on the table. “We’re kind of getting on with our life, to be honest. We have plenty of other things to be dealing with,” she said. “So yeah, it’s not really a subject that’s coming up in our house, to be honest. The dog needs to be walked, the dinner needs to be made — we’re most focused on that.”

Everyone has a fave in mind for the next James Bond. The internet wanted Idris Elba, but he shot down the rumors himself. Danny Boyle wants Jack O’Connell. Riz Ahmed made a very convincing argument for himself in the form of Bait. Still, no announcement has been made. James Bond will return but with what face remains to be seen.
