Paramount+ has released the full trailer for MobLand season two — and it sees Tom Hardy’s Harry Da Souza return as the Harrigan family fixer as the family’s drama ramps up.
“This family is in a death spiral,” Harry says to Pierce Brosnan‘s Conrad Harrigan in the trailer.
Season one ended with crime boss Conrad and his partner in crime and wife, Maeve (Helen Mirren), in jail. Now they’re out and back to face the problems head-on with the criminal clan.
“Conrad went completely bonkers berserk,” a character says.
Here’s the official logline: “The Harrigans struggle to show a unified front as rising rivals threaten their fractured criminal empire — and Harry Da Souza, their street-smart and formidable ‘fixer,’ must walk a dangerous tightrope when tensions within the family intensify. As violence spills into every corner of their lives, loyalties snap, safety proves temporary and the battle for power leaves no room for mercy.”
Brosnan spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about what he hopes is in store for MobLand’s longevity.
“I would very much like to see more seasons. There’s a lot of life (laughs) and death within this family and these storylines,” he said. “People love these kinds of characters, especially when they’re so beautifully rendered by playwrights like Ronan Bennett and Jez Butterworth. And when you have an ensemble cast like we have, which is so strong, so powerful.”
But after news broke that Hardy reportedly clashed with executive producer Butterworth during the production of season two and allegedly refused to leave his trailer, questions were raised about whether Hardy would even continue with MobLand. However, they appeared to have patched things up since he’s returning for season three.
The cast rounds out with Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Jasmine Jobson, Teddie Allen, Emmett J. Scanlan, Johnny Flynn, Ophelia Lovibond, Janet McTeer and Toby Jones.
The crime drama is commissioned by Paramount+ and produced in association with Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios. Additional executive producers include David C. Glasser, Guy Ritchie, Hardy, Ivan Atkinson, Dean Baker, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari and Keith Cox.
MobLand season two premieres Sept. 18 on Paramount+ and will consist of 10 episodes. It will be available to stream weekly on Fridays, leading up to the season finale on Nov. 20.
