Lisa Kudrow Said She’s Likely Ditching Botox After Having This Grim Side Effect
“I am scared of having to see myself looking like my grandmother one day.“
Save for a nose job at age 16, Lisa has been candid about her hesitations about cosmetic augmentation. “Everyone but me seems to be doing this, so am I allowed not to?” she asked on a 2024 episode of Armchair Expert, noting that her husband “won’t let” her have more done.
In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Lisa wore sunglasses to cover irritation in her eyes. “I think [Botox] contributed to my eye irritation and this weird pattern on my forehead, so I’m probably done with it now anyway,” she said.
Lisa first started having Botox at the age of 60, two years ago, and said she’s surprised that people still recognize her in public. She continued, “I am scared of having to see myself looking like my grandmother one day, but I’m excited to play older roles.”
Indeed, some of the side effects of Botox around the forehead or eyes can include irritation, redness, blurred vision, dryness, or “a gritty sensation in your eyes.”
The actor further said that she “couldn’t wait to just be older and age out” of certain roles. “I wanted to do independent films,” she explained. “I’m not a romantic comedy actress. I’m not cute or sexy, or the type of character where my only problem is I am too clumsy to have a boyfriend, you know what I mean?”
