Less than a month after Perry and Bloom confirmed the end of their nine-year relationship in June 2025, the 40-year-old singer was spotted out with the 53-year-old Canadian politician. Nearly a year later they’re Instagram-official and starting to dress alike at music festivals. Here’s a complete timeline of Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s relationship.
April 11, 2026: Perry and Trudeau coordinate looks for Coachella 2026. For her part, Perry wore a cropped white T-shirt that read “Pls do not give me a rip off your vape no matter what I say” with short shorts, moto boots, and varsity knee socks. Trudeau’s look wasn’t quite as out there, but he definitely matched her “cool kids’ table” vibe in his own white T-shirt, canvas sneakers, and a backwards cap. In her Instagram roundup, Perry included a photo of the pair holding hands, eating takeout, and even shared a video of the pair dancing with red solo cups.
December 5, 2025: Perry posts a few moments with Trudeau in her Instagram roundup from her trip to Japan for her global Lifetimes Tour concert on December 3. “Tokyo times on tour and more,” she captioned the post, which included a selfie with the politician, as well as a cute video of the duo as she tried her “first uni.”

December 4, 2025: Trudeau reposts a group photo with Katy Perry and the former prime minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, and his wife, Yuko. “Great to see you @kishida230. Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko,” he wrote on X.com. “Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone.”
October 31, 2025: Trudeau appears to pay subtle homage to his girlfriend on Halloween. While he dressed as a shark as part of a father-son costume, he made a point to note in his Instagram post that he was standing on the “left” of his kid, who was dressed as a surfer. Fans were quick to make the connection to “Left Shark,” the off-beat backup dancer who went viral during Perry’s Super Bowl Halftime Show performance in 2015.

October 30, 2025: Perry confirms her relationship status while rejecting a fan’s marriage proposal during a concert. “This guy is trying to get me to marry him and he has a ring in his hand,” Perry told the crowd, per one TikTok video. “No! I am dating someone else, for crying out fucking loud.”
October 25, 2025: Perry and Trudeau smile for paparazzi as they arrive hand in hand at Crazy Horse Paris to celebrate Perry’s birthday. For her part, Perry was dressed in a red bodycon and mesh pumps. You can see the photos here, as well as video of their exit here.
“Ok they look goooooooood together,” one fan comments on DeuxMoi’s Instagram post about the hard launch, while another joked, “I don’t like this, but it’s actually perfect.”
October 11, 2025: Oh, you thought those Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau dating rumors fizzled out? Well, they’re back in full force now that the pair have been spotted canoodling on a yacht off the coast of Santa Barbara, California. In a series of blurry photos shared by the Daily Mail, the pair were seen embracing on the top deck of the boat, though sources also tell the publication that Perry and Trudeau were “making out.”
While the outing reportedly occurred in September, the photos weren’t shared until mid-October.
August 2, 2025: Orlando Bloom is able to find humor in the rumors, based on his response to The Onion’s satirical post, “Orlando Bloom Spotted at Dinner With Angela Merkel.” Bloom responded to the post with a series of clapping emojis, per the Instagram account @commentsbycelebs.
The Onion further poked fun at the recent dating rumors with the following Instagram caption:
Just weeks after announcing his split with fiancée Katy Perry, English actor Orlando Bloom was photographed Friday dining with former German Chancellor Angela Merkel. “Angela kept Orlando laughing all night—he couldn’t keep his eyes off her!” said an insider source who spotted the pair sipping wine, slurping oysters, and splitting a decadent piece of chocolate layer cake at a Michelin-starred restaurant.
Meawhile, a source tells People that Perry and Trudeau’s “romance” is in its “early stages.”
“Justin is a [politician] who is used to living a secret life with his personal activity, and wouldn’t put on a public display at this stage,” the source says. “He knows they were being watched and is smart enough to play it low-key for now.”
Another source claims “they are interested in each other” but taking things slow. “She is traveling around the world, and he is figuring out his life now that he is no longer prime minister of Canada, but there is an attraction,” the source says. “They have a lot in common.”
Those commonalities reportedly include music and an optimistic worldview. “Both are idealists and still live in a world where they think they can make improvements, although it has gotten more difficult,” the source says.
July 30, 2025: Rumors don’t stop Trudeau from attending Perry’s concert with his daughter, Ella-Grace, per The Daily Mail. Fans at the Montreal show make sure to film Trudeau singing along to songs like “Teenage Dream” and “Firework.”
July 28, 2025: The outing that started it all! Perry and Trudeau share dinner at Le Violon in Montreal, Canada, according to video published by TMZ and a report by People.
“Katy and Justin seemed to have had a fantastic evening,” a rep for the restaurant later tells People. “They were super kind and friendly to the staff, and it was an absolute pleasure to have them at the restaurant.”
Prior to their dinner, Trudeau and Perry were photographed taking a walk around Montreal’s Mount Royal Park, though TMZ did not share those photos until after their alleged dinner date went viral. According to the publication, their evening continued with post-dinner drinks at Taverne Atlantic.
July 3, 2025: Perry and Bloom confirm their separation amid rampant breakup rumors.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” their reps said in a statement, per People. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
Meanwhile, a source tells Page Six that Bloom was “unapologetically” flirting with women during a June trip to Miami. “Orlando was definitely with girls in Miami,” the source says. “He’s been not subtly out and about.”

“They’re pretty much done,” the source told People. “It’s been breaking down the last couple of months and isn’t looking good.”
