The official website for the television anime adaptation of Kyouko Hikawa‘s Kanata kara (From Far Away) manga revealed additional cast, staff, theme songs, a key visual (pictured), and the main promotional video on Wednesday. The anime series is scheduled to premiere on October 5 at 12.00 a.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by AT-X, ABC TV, and WOWOW.

Japanese boy band Genin wa Jibun ni Aru. (Tetsunabe no Jan!) is performing the opening theme “Touhikou,” while Nanashi no Taro (Kamierabi 2nd Season) is performing the ending theme “Hikari no Gawa de.” Both theme songs are previewed in the main promotional video below.
Noriyuki Abe (Bleach) is directing the anime at Studio Deen. Rika Nakase (Raise wa Tanin ga Ii) is handling the series composition. Eiji Abiko (Replica datte, Koi wo Suru.) is designing the characters, with Takeshi Hama (Cosmic Wave) (Champignon no Majo) in charge of the music.
Hikawa serialized the fantasy romance manga in LaLa magazine from September 1991 to January 2003. Hakusensha published the 14th and final volume in April 2003.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in 2004. The 14th and final volume went on sale in January 2007.
Kanata kara won the 35th Seiun Award in the Comics category in 2004.
