EXCLUSIVE: Drew Simon is set to depart Infrared, the FilmNation-backed production label he founded four years ago with FilmNation CEO Glen Basner, to pursue new opportunities.
Sources tell Deadline that after four years building Infrared and seeing its initial slate through production, Simon felt the timing was right to pursue his next opportunity. Sources say Simon will be staying on as a producer for a number of upcoming films.
FilmNation declined comment.
Simon leaves Infrared following an active run of productions, most recently wrapping Skeletons last month. He produced that film alongside J.J. Abrams, with J.T. Mollner directing and Brie Larson, John Goodman and Kyle Gallner starring. Prior to that, Simon produced Painter for 20th Century Studios alongside James Cameron and Derek Kolstad. Directed by Garrett Warren, the action film stars Amber Midthunder and Walton Goggins and is set for release on Hulu/Disney+ in early 2027.
Simon also produced Novocaine, starring Jack Quaid, which was released globally by Paramount in 2025.
