The Gates Foundation has called for proposals to create estimates of the global burden of diarrheal diseases, with a focus on children younger than 5 living in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
The Foundation, previously called the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, wants to support efforts that inform the overall burden of diarrhea and pathogen-specific contributions, clarify key sources of uncertainty, and produce relevant estimates for policymakers, researchers, and health partners.
