Amid all this new information and footage of GTA 6, the massively anticipated open world game, it’s been reported that the game will not feature any microtransactions, nor has Rockstar Games used generative AI.
This info comes via Kinda Funny Games as they discuss their preview at the company’s headquarters in Edinburgh, where they got to speak to Rob Nelson, co-studio head of Rockstar North.
It’s reported in the above video that you will not be able to spend any real-world money within the game; there’s “no monetisations” present in GTA 6.
When asked “point blank” if there’s AI use in the game, Nelson simply replied “No.”
It’s good to hear that the game won’t nickel and dime you with silly microtransactions, and that everything within the experience is human-made.
Kinda Funny also asked about the next iteration of GTA Online, but Rockstar wouldn’t say anything about it.
I expect that, in terms of microtransactions, GTA Online will be a different case. The version of the online game that exists today does contain in-game purchases, and I have to imagine it’ll be the same in the new version.
But, as for the single player game releasing on 19th November, none of that will be present.
