There are few things J.Crew does better than staples, and its latest cold-weather arrivals are the perfect reminder. As temperatures continue to drop, the retailer has stocked its new arrivals section with covetable fall pieces you’ll want to live in from now through winter.

This starts, naturally, with an impressive assortment of sweaters. The brand’s signature rollneck returns in every iteration imaginable, from versatile solids and playful prints to a new cropped, Emma Chamberlain-endorsed silhouette. There’s also a version from J.Crew’s collaboration with Eckhaus Latta, which puts the downtown New York label’s cool-girl spin on the preppy essential. Elsewhere in the knitwear department, polo sweaters offer another take on collegiate dressing, while styles with built-in scarves tap into one of the season’s biggest trends.

Speaking of Eckhaus Latta, there are still some excellent pieces left from J.Crew’s collaboration with the label founded by Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta. They complement a broader collection that’s particularly strong when it comes to outerwear. Updated barn jackets celebrate the brand’s iconic jacket (now in its 40th year), while plaid coats, leather bombers, and ladylike wool jackets offer options for every fall aesthetic.

There’s also a sense of utility running through the new assortment. Drawstring trousers and chinos bring an easy practicality to everyday dressing, while funnel-neck coats offer an edgier alternative to more traditional silhouettes (and, bonus, allow you to skip the scarf). The first signs of holiday dressing are beginning to trickle in, too. J.Crew’s signature embellished-collar sweaters and jackets, along with decorative shirting, add sparkle and shine without tilting too far into party wear.

The fall footwear selection is just as wide-ranging. Ballet flats and derby shoes can carry shoppers through those lingering warmer fall days, while substantial boots are ready for the colder weather inevitably around the corner.

Whether you’re shopping for a forever coat, refreshing your knitwear drawer, or looking for something festive to make the approaching winter feel a little more exciting, J.Crew’s latest drop has plenty worth adding to your rotation. Ahead, our picks.
