The 2026 Cannes Festival has officially come to a close—and what a fashion whirlwind that was.
For the past two weeks, Hollywood A-listers have been traversing the famed Croisette in the South of France to promote their new films, and the festival’s red carpet has been a total thrill to spectate. Whether it was this year’s jury members delivering one knockout look after another—Chloe Zhao! Demi Moore! Ruth Negga!—or leading ladies attending their splashy premieres—Renate Reinsve! Isabelle Huppert!—there was no shortage of statement looks during the event. (Many of them custom or fresh off the runway, no less.)
From voluminous frocks to high-octane colors, the motive of the week was certainly to lean into the extravagance of Cannes. Even the suited-up men couldn’t help but up the ante—Stellan Skarsgard and Colman Domingo both brought a dash of theatricality to the mix.
And while there were loads of stars who caught our eye, there were eight notable names who stood out from the pack. Who made the cut for Vogue’s best dressed of Cannes? It was the red carpet stars who delivered several outfit changes, each one more elaborate or bolder than the next. Below, read on for the celebrities who turned the Cannes red carpet into their fashion playground.

Styled by Brad Goreski, jury member Demi Moore understood the assignment of treating Cannes like a game of high-fashion dress-up. Whether it was a sculptural high-neck red Gucci gown, or an extra-wide Matières Fécales ballgown in shocking pink, the star was not afraid to lean into drama—and thank god for that.

Ruth Negga and stylist Karla Welch played up Old Hollywood glamour—but the fresh and modern silhouettes made it feel more New Hollywood. Whether it was her leather Balenciaga opera gloves, or her black lace Saint Laurent gown with peplum detailing, she took timeless designs and made them feel just a little more current.

Cannes may be all about the A-list actors in attendance, but Chloe Zhao made the case for standout director style. The jury member styled herself for Cannes this year, collaborating with labels such as Schiaparelli and Gabriela Hearst on some seriously-knockout red carpet looks.

Stellan Skarsgard
Mature style had a moment during Cannes this year. The 50+ crowd proved that a sense of style only amps up with age—and leading the charge was Stellan Skarsgard in his extremely dapper array of suits, from sleek Ami Paris (borrowed by his co-star Renate Reinsve) to tailored Loewe with a pop of color.

Always one to peacock on the red carpet, Colman Domingo did not disappoint with his brief (but memorable) cameo at Cannes. His glimmering Valentino looks—whether purple and caped, or via bedazzled suiting—shined as bright as his presence on-screen.

Another win for Karla Welch. The stylist delivered one champion Louis Vuitton look after another (all custom) for Renate Reinsve. Striking the right notes of glamorous yet understated, these looks hit the pressure points for what a 2026 movie star should wear.

Would it even be Cannes without a supermodel sighting? Bella Hadid and stylist Mimi Cuttrell shut down the red carpets in looks that felt elegant, regal, and very much catwalk-worthy. There were some vintage hits, like her bronzed Elie Saab, or new custom designs, like her lace Schiaparelli gown that served as a recreation of a 1969 Jane Birkin design.

Lastly, a Cannes best dressed roundup would not be complete without the presence of French royalty—French cinema royalty, that is. Isabelle Huppert delivered plenty of head-turning looks these past two weeks: there was her purple-skirted Balenciaga look with a white collared shirt, and her flowing red Gucci gown with a sweeping train. Mic-drop.
