After months of anticipation, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is finally in theaters. The franchise centers around the fictional fashion magazine Runway (an obvious ode to a certain infamous publication), and considering the cultural impact the styling in the first film had—with iconic fashion moments like the cerulean monologue and those unforgettable Chanel boots—we couldn’t wait to see what was in store in the wardrobe department for part two, twenty years later. Naturally, we had to take a closer look at the outfits, recreating the ensembles that are sure to define the next wave of cultural conversation.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 Shopping Checklist:
Helmed by costume designer Molly Rogers—whose work you might recognize from And Just Like That—the second film explores style themes such as modern power suiting, shine and embellishment, and even vacation-ready outfitting—all with each cult character’s distinct style and point of view. Perfectly in tune with the current trend cycles, we couldn’t help but notice editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep, leaning into skirt suits and serious power tailoring—something Anne Hathaway’s character Andy Sachs fully embraces throughout the film, as well. All surprisingly wearable, these looks offer guidance when it comes to workwear and beyond, with a touch of cinematic flair.
However, it wouldn’t be a blockbuster fashion movie without some pomp and circumstance—and Rogers delivers with everything from a custom red Balenciaga gown to an adorned Dries Van Noten coat, covered in pearl droplets, both worn by Streep. Hathaway’s Andy also dives into statement dressing, shedding her features editor uniform for something more sparkly—namely, a Paco Rabanne sequin masterpiece in deep blue—signaling the character’s evolved confidence and sense of style, and proving that yes—even she is not exempt from the fashion industry’s influence.

The Skirt Suit
For DWP2, Miranda Priestly’s closet is stocked with plenty of power suiting—one of our favorites being this tonal gray skirt suit, a trend we noticed heavily across the spring/summer 2026 runways. Channel the her office ensemble with a coordinating blazer and pleated midi skirt, working in softer touches of gray to achieve a monochrome feel. A silky camisole, suede heeled pumps, and silver hoop earrings finish off this modern workwear look beautifully.

Summer Tailoring
Andy Sachs is back in Miranda’s orbit—and leaning into modern tailoring throughout the film, with a more contemporary point of view. As the warmer months approach, do the same by investing in a pinstriped suit featuring a waistcoat, inspired by classic menswear suiting. It’s a polished take on workwear staples for when it’s blistering hot outside. Heeled pumps, a hardworking bag, and layered necklaces—like this strand of pearls—nod to corporate codes with a fashion-forward twist.

Runway’s Finest
Keeping in line with the tailored wardrobe theme, Streep’s character played with statement silhouettes for an outing during Fashion Month in Milan. Again dressing in monochrome, we see how an embellished or embroidered coat can add a bit more glamour to straightforward silk blouses and wide-leg trouser pants for a special occasion (or even just everyday). Pair with power pumps in the same hue and other delicate accents—like a clutch bag and waist belt—to tie the look together with a cohesive, head-to-toe effect.

Fashion Closet Raid
It wouldn’t be DWP2 without a purge of the Runway fashion closet alongside Nigel. The creative director, played by Stanley Tucci, helps Andy prepare for a weekend in the Hamptons at Miranda’s house, as she puts her own spin on the skirt suit for the workplace, by mixing and matching unexpected proportions and textures. A checked blazer and pleated skirt riff on this idea—we’d simply style with a timeless watch and other office-appropriate accessories, such as a top-handle bag and pointy pumps.

Essentials with a Twist
Spoiler alert: No longer a part of the Runway family, Emily now works at Christian Dior—and we see the former assistant to Miranda representing the brand in a full look. Taking notes from her high-fashion style playbook, wear a corset top over a white button-down shirt and trousers for subversive edge. Luxe accessories from the brand—once again, pumps and a practical handbag—only make sense. Think of this as your guide to essentials, reworked with a fashionable finish.

Gala Dressing
One of the very first looks of the film shows Priestly arriving at a gala event (obviously nodding to fashion’s biggest night of the year) in a custom red Balenciaga gown. Paying homage to the book cover’s glossy red—it’s a great reminder that a pop of crimson is always welcome, especially when it comes to eveningwear. Whether wedding RSVPs are rolling in or a black-tie event is on the horizon, start building your looks around a bold dress. Adding minimalist accessories, like metallic strappy sandals, a sleek clutch bag, and refined gold jewelry will let the look speak for itself.

Hamptons Bound
Spotted waiting to board the Jitney, Andy is ready for a weekend in the Hamptons with the help of Nigel and Runway’s fashion closet. Channeling the modern bohemian vibe that has been brewing for spring, Gabriela Hearst’s colorful, patchwork maxi dress delivers a statement-making vacation look (sure to be Miranda-approved), when styled with heeled clogs and a straw bucket hat. Pro tip: For this weekend away, don’t forget the designer luggage.

Evening Textures
For a major dinner in Milan, Miranda chooses something sparkly for an evening in the Italian fashion capital. Layering different textures together—the first step is an embellished jacket loaded with shine and embroidered details—Rogers takes the look a step further, adding a lurex blouse underneath, demonstrating how to expertly mix for maximum impact. Keep things otherwise simple, with classic black cigarette trousers, pointy pumps, and a touch of ’80s-inspired jewelry.

Sequins and Shine
While attending Runway owner Irv Rabitz’s 75th birthday bash with her new beau, Hathaway’s character embraces the shine trend in a Paco Rabanne masterpiece in deep blue. Recreate the idea with a sequin dress and strappy heels for your next cocktail event (and maybe even throw in a tuxedo jacket), finishing with one of the brand’s iconic party bags as the final focal piece. It’s a look that reads understated yet sophisticated, with a wink of playfulness.
