The Rag & Bone team designs the label’s pre-fall collection in the peak of New York City’s summer. Observing the nuances of everyday dressing in the brand’s Meatpacking District neighborhood, Chief Merchandising & Design Officer, Jennie McCormick noted how the clothes blurred the distinction between day and night. In the showroom, she pointed to a dress with special detailing on the back and bias seams that flowed elegantly to the floor. “It could be worn around the city with a pair of sandals, but dressed up for an event at night,” she said. “One thing about the Rag & Bone woman is that she’s irreverent and she wears her dress because she just loves it.”
Matching sets have become a staple of the Rag & Bone wardrobe, and for pre-fall McCormick and co. offered some fun new takes. A mulberry silk utility tank and pants combo looked easy-wearing, while the printed organza set will give the R&B customer a dressed-up option without much effort.
