An anime adaptation of Mugi Mameta and Toi Ishino‘s Aisanai to Iwaremashitemo: Moto Maou no Hakushaku Reijou wa Kimajime Gunjin ni Ezuke wo Sarete Shiawase ni Naru (Dinners with My Darling: How the Former Monster King Ate Her Way to Happiness) manga was announced on Friday, revealing an announcement visual (pictured above).
Mameta began penning the fantasy romance novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in April 2022. Futabasha began publishing the novel under their M Novels f imprint in October 2022, featuring illustrations by Nagisa Hanazome and published the sixth volume in November 2025, with the seventh volume planned for a May 7 release. Aisanai to Iwaremashitemo has a cumulative 1.8 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
Ishino began serializing the manga adaptation on the Manga Gaugau website in January 2023. Futabasha published the sixth volume in November 2025, with the seventh scheduled for a May 7 release.
Cross Infinite World licensed the light novel for digital release in English in December 2024 and published the third volume on March 31. Futabasha publishes the manga adaptation in English digitally through their MangaPlaza website.
