LakiPak Live @ Yuyintown Basement
Born in Shanghai in 2022, LakiPak is an emerging force in East Asia’s contemporary fusion scene.
LakiPak’s sound moves freely between jazz improvisation, R&B, and neo-soul grooves, hip-hop, electronic music, and pop, creating a concert experience that eludes easy definition while drawing inspiration from modern fusion pioneers such as Louis Cole, Snarky Puppy, and Hiatus Kaiyote.
The band is robustly international, with core members representing four continents and musical origins ranging from heavy Caucasus rock to Mauritian Sega, American gospel music, and contemporary London jazz.
LakiPak released its debut EP, Here, and completed its first China tour in 2025. In recent months, the band has released its sophomore EP, Beyond, and performed on the main stage of the JZ Spring Jazz Festival.
Having performed frequently at flagship Shanghai jazz venues since its inception, LakiPak is thrilled to make its Yuyintang debut this month and invite a new audience to join the Pak.
