Ball X Pit! Slitterhead!

If you’re a PS Plus Extra member in the UK, USA, or Japan territories, you’ve got another two PS5, PS4 games to play as part of your membership starting today.

Ball X Pit and Slitterhead join the service in those regions as of 22nd September, though anyone outside these places already gained access to the full September 2026 lineup last week. This is only in the UK, USA, and Japan, where Sony is experimenting with how it rolls out PS Plus Extra titles.

Here’s what the schedule looks like this for the rest of the month:

29th September 2026

  • Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound (PS5, PS4)
  • Dungeons of Hinterberg (PS5)
  • Sniper Elite: Resistance (PS5, PS4)

For those who don’t know, Ball X Pit launched for PS5 last year, and it’s a bit like Vampire Survivors meets Breakout. It’s a roguelite where you use balls to clear stages and then build a base in between them. “It’s designed in such a way that you’re constantly given reasons to keep playing, and runs are short enough that it’s easy to excuse ‘just one more’. The game is so cleverly done and so moreish to play that fans of roguelites and quick-fire arcade fun simply have to check it out.”

Then there’s Slitterhead, which is sort of what Sony Japan Studio would have made if it ventured into the horror genre when it was still around.

Even a veteran of the developer, Keiichiro Toyama, served as director on the game: “Serving as a spiritual successor to fan favourites like Siren, Gravity Rush, and Soul Sacrifice, this haunting tale about a body-hopping spirit – who uses humans as fodder to put a stop to the eponymous enemy – is a scintillating albeit occasionally undercooked debut from Bokeh Game Studios.”

Liam Croft

Liam grew up with a PlayStation controller in his hands and a love for Metal Gear Solid. Nowadays, he’s found playing the latest and greatest PS5 games as well as supporting Derby County. That last detail is his downfall.
