Here are my tips if anyone else wants to make this pattern:
1- Lifelines and stitch markers are your friends. I’ve frogged this thing at least five times, and the lifelines save a ton of time when that happens. Stitch markers are also super important. Put one at the beginning of each repeat in the pattern, and count your stitches when you get to each one. I lost track of the number of times I got to a marker, counted, and realized I had made a mistake. The earlier you catch your mistakes the easier it is to fix them.
2- This thing is big, so get a big blocking mat. I had to buy extra mats for this one, and I still had to work to get it to fit.
3- When blocking, start pinning it at the middle and work your way out on both sides at once. Put a pin in one side and then another on the same place on the other side. I didn’t do this, and it ended up kind of crooked, which was a real pain to fix.
