NHL forward Jeff Malott and a number of his Anaheim Ducks teammates went wild after his brother Mike scored a knockout win in the main event of UFC Edmonton.
Mike Malott (15-2-1 MMA) took to the Octagon for the biggest fight of his career this evening in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The 34-year-old Canadian headlined the event opposite fellow welterweight contender Joaquin Buckley.
‘Proper’ had entered the high-stakes matchup on a four-fight winning streak, with his most recent victory coming by way of third-round TKO over former title challenger Gilbert Burns this past April at UFC Winnipeg.
As for Joaquin Buckley (21-9 MMA), ‘New Mansa’ had entered this evening’s main event with hopes of snapping a two-fight losing skid, this after suffering back-to-back unanimous decision losses to Sean Brady and Kamaru Usman in his most previous UFC appearances.
Joining the thousands of others that were tuning in around the world for tonight’s ‘Buckley vs. Malott’ main event was Mike’s brother Jeff.
We are in Mike Malott’s corner 👊

Jeff, a left winger for the NHL franchise Anaheim Ducks, got together with a number of his hockey teammates to watch his brother throw hands with Buckley.
As hoped by Jeff, the Ducks, and most of Canada, Mike Malott emerged victorious in his showdown with Joaquin Buckley earning a devastating second-round knockout victory (see that here).
Malott was able to get off a crisp combination before executing a perfect right high kick that landed flush to the jaw of Buckley. ‘New Mansa’ went crashing to the Octagon canvas and a follow up punch from ‘Proper’ was all it took to put Joaquin out cold for the finish.
As you can see below, Jeff and his Anaheim Ducks teammates were thrilled by the highlight reel result:
