Former two-division UFC champion Alex Pereira is looking frightening ahead of his highly anticipated heavyweight debut at UFC Freedom 250.
UFC superstar Alex Pereira’s long-awaited heavyweight debut is just weeks away as he prepares to fight Ciryl Gane in the UFC Freedom 250 co-main event. Pereira vs. Gane is an interim heavyweight title bout amidst Tom Aspinall’s ongoing hiatus, with the winner set to face the undisputed champion at a later date.
Just weeks after vacating the UFC light heavyweight title, Pereira has taken on quite the transformation as he prepares to make the full-time move to the heavyweight division. Pereira, as of this writing, is around 250 pounds and is expected to look massive on fight night.
One of Pereira’s legendary traits is his knockout power, as evidenced by recent wins over Magomed Ankalaev, Jamahal Hill, and Jiri Prochazka. Despite his massive weight gain, his power and speed look arguably even better than ever.

Pereira’s heavyweight debut comes at a time of decline and uncertainty in the UFC’s heavyweight division. After Aspinall vs. Gane went to a no contest at UFC 321, it’s uncertain when Aspinall will return to the Octagon, after suffering multiple eye injuries and undergoing several surgeries.
But Pereira faces a steep challenge in Gane, a former UFC interim heavyweight champion. Before his fight with Aspinall went to a no contest, Gane was beating up Aspinall and was potentially on the verge of putting the undisputed champion in real trouble in Round 1.
Pereira vs. Gane is one of the biggest fights in the UFC heavyweight division’s illustrious history, and Pereira will look to deal another knockout blow on the White House lawn.
