Laura Sanko is siding with the underdog ahead of the main event of Freedom 250.
The tension is escalating between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje as we get closer to their title unification clash at the White House.
While the confidence of ‘El Matador’ appears to be bothering his opponent, many agree with Topuria that he’ll stop Gaethje in emphatic fashion on June 14.
However, with fight week underway, there are people that believe ‘The Highlight’ might be getting overlooked due to the hype surrounding his undefeated foe.

Laura Sanko goes against her analyst instincts to pick Justin Gaethje via finish at Freedom 250
While she won’t be joining the UFC White House commentary team, Laura Sanko will be hosting the fan events at the Ellipse this weekend.
The former fighter recently gave her in-depth breakdown of the main event of Freedom 250 when previewing the entire card on ‘The Bohnfire’.
Sanko believes that Ilia Topuria deserves the hype, but admitted that she’s choosing against what might be the more logical prediction when naming her final pick.
“I do think that Justin Gaethje has way more than a puncher’s chance. The people that are saying he’s going to get cooked on the front lawn of the White House are just nuts… I love picking underdogs but the analyst in me is saying Ilia Topuria. But, I’m going to go with Justin Gaethje. On America’s front lawn. Finish.”

If you can only watch one fighter, are you picking Alex Pereira or Ilia Topuria?
Make your pick and explain why in the comments below.

Dustin Poirier raised concerns about Gaethje’s mindset for this fight due to comments he made at the press conference about not caring if he wins or loses.
Sanko saw this as a positive for the interim champion, suggesting that this lack of pressure will make him more dangerous against an opponent that is expected to win in impressive fashion.
Other points like Gaethje always being competitive even in his losses, and Charles Oliveira previously naming him the hardest hitter he’s faced were also highlighted.
