Farid Basharat shared his thoughts on his opponent withdrawing less than two weeks from fight night.
On July 11, Conor McGregor returns to face Max Holloway in a rematch that will undoubtedly be one of the biggest matchups the Octagon has ever hosted.
‘The Notorious’ hasn’t always had the most stacked undercards for his main events but UFC 329 in Las Vegas bucks that trend.
Unfortunately, the card has been forced into several changes and while one replacement matchup has already been revealed, the UFC is working to make another one happen.

Farid Basharat believes July 11 was never going to go well for Ethyn Ewing
Earlier this week, it was reported that Ethyn Ewing is out of his fight that was set to take place at UFC 329 on July 11.
Farid Basharat recently shared his reaction to the news that he’s now without an opponent for International Fight Week via a video on his YouTube channel.
He said that while he wishes Ewing the best and that this matchup was never personal, he doesn’t think his originally scheduled opponent would’ve succeeded if he had made it to the fight.
“First of all I want the fans to know that I feel like Ethyn Ewing dodged a bullet,” Basharat stated. “Like I said, speedy recovery to him but as much as the fans loved him and they were rooting for him, it wasn’t going to go well for him.
“July 11, when we did get in the cage, the fans were never going to help him. The hype was never going to help him. At the end of the day, it was going to be him against me in the cage, locked for 15 minutes, and there was only one outcome for that.”

Basharat confirmed the reports that the UFC is looking to find him a new opponent on short notice in order to keep him on the card.
He’s remaining focused on what he can control and securing the win on July 11 regardless of who’s in front of him, explaining that he believes his style will be very difficult for someone to prepare for on less than two weeks.
Basharat is currently 6-0 in the UFC, competing mostly at bantamweight with one appearance at featherweight.
His brother, Javid Basharat, recently signed to the PFL after his run in the UFC came to a surprising end earlier this year.
