Shakur Stevenson believes someone needs to be held accountable for him being incorrectly named.
It was confirmed on July 9 that Zuffa Boxing has signed Stevenson to secure their highest-ranked signing to date.
Their latest marquee addition to the roster was in attendance for one of the UFC’s biggest events of the year this past weekend in Las Vegas.
While he was shown during the live broadcast of UFC 329, a mistake led to Dana White criticizing his own staff for what was a clear error.

You are Dana White for the day, what’s the one change you’d make to the UFC?

Shakur Stevenson was left confused how anyone could confuse him with Jalen Williams after UFC 329 error
During the UFC 329 broadcast, Shakur Stevenson was shown to be in attendance, despite the graphic labelling him as Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jalen Williams.
Dana White said that his promotion is the “absolute worst” when it comes to spotlighting celebrities in the audience after he paid the undefeated boxer a “s— load of money.”
“Man, that was some crazy s—,” Stevenson said on The Ariel Helwani Show when sharing his reaction to seeing this mistake.

“Whoever is behind the production, I think Dana is right, they need to be fired and somebody needs to talk to them because I don’t even understand how y’all even get me mixed up with Jalen Williams. We don’t look nothing alike.”
Despite wanting someone to be held accountable, Stevenson said he ultimately wasn’t offended or too bothered by this error.
“I don’t care. That s— don’t do nothing for me. At the end of the day, when I go in there on fight night, ain’t nobody gonna mistake me for nobody.”
The recently announced fight between Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn has eased any concerns about Steveson’s move to sign with Zuffa Boxing.
Some feared beforehand that he might not get the biggest fights possible and could be forced to drop his WBO title.

UFC made a similar mistake in 2024 with Terence Crawford
Dana White was forced to admit an embarrassing mistake that happened during the spectacular UFC 306 show at Sphere in Las Vegas.
While the live broadcast offered stunning visuals, it also incorrectly displayed a name graphic for Kendrick Lamar while Terence Crawford was shown on screen.
Crawford found the mistake funny and suggested that it must have been intentional because there’s no way anyone could mix the two men up.
