As many of us know, the New Orleans Saints and franchise great Cam Jordan agreed on a new deal to bring him home for one more year. Throughout this contract discussion, which lasted nearly the entire offseason, Jordan wanted more money than he had under his previous contract, and the Saints did not want to overpay given his age. Both sides had their reasons during discussions/negotiations, but after some push from others, Jordan wanted to come back to the Saints, and the deal was agreed upon.
When the news broke, it was revealed that the contract would be incentive-heavy, and today, we now know the official numbers.
Although it’s a major difference, Jordan was able to get a raise from the Saints. For Jordan, the last contract was 1 year, $6,050,000. So, just on base value alone, Jordan was able to get more money from the Saints this year, and the incentives bring it even higher.
Jordan made it known that he wanted to be paid after an impressive double-digit sack season, and although this may not have been what he was hoping for, he is betting on himself to do it again.
