There’s no love between former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and current champ Kayla Harrison.
Years before UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey and current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison launched their MMA careers, they were rivals on the Judo mats. Rousey defeated Harrison at the 2005 U.S. Judo Championships in a matchup that put the nation’s Judo team on the map for years to come.
21 years later, and there remains little respect and admiration between Rousey and Harrison. Harrison’s manager recently acknowledged that his client has real hatred for Rousey.
Things intensified between Harrison and Rousey earlier this month ahead of Rousey’s MMA comeback. After Rousey told a story about a ‘King of the Hill’ training session in Judo, Harrison scorched Rousey for a ‘blatant f***** lie’ told by the former bantamweight titleholder.
As Rousey prepares to fight Gina Carano next month on Netflix, she took time from her media tour to go on an unhinged rant against Harrison.

During the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano press conference in New York City, Rousey went on a wild rant against her former Judo competitor.
“Gina is so relevant that she’s the only reason the 145-pound division even exists. The only reason [Kayla] has a job at the UFC is because of me, and Kayla is so irrelevant that she couldn’t keep the 145-pound division around. And honestly, she’s so sour because no matter what she does or what she accomplishes, she can’t change the fact that she has the charisma of a wet towel and will always be in mine and Gina’s shadow!” Rousey began on Harrison.

“So the next time she wants to talk s***, she should look down at her feet and consider who paved the road that she’s walking on. Oh wait! She can’t look down at her feet, because she’s too busy holding on to the belt in a neck brace. And then, she goes on and says I lied about training in Judo in Canada in like 2006. Who the f*** are you to call me a liar? B****, you weren’t even there!
“I’ve cultivated a reputation for being unabashingly truthful. This b**** just got here and got caught in a lie!” Rousey continued on Harrison. “She said I used to buy her groceries, shut the f*** up and eat your groceries! She and Hunter are trying to act like her upcoming fight is the biggest women’s fight of all time, then why is it being booked as the co-main for a men’s interim title fight? The b*** isn’t even bigger than Paddy the Baddy! F*** that b****!”
As of this writing, Harrison hasn’t responded to Rousey’s latest remarks. Harrison has been sidelined with a neck injury that forced her to withdraw from UFC 324 earlier this year ahead of her scheduled bout with Amanda Nunes.
