On August 11, Brazilian journalist Leo Guimaraes reported that Payton Talbott’s return is in the works for October 3 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The rising bantamweight contender is said to be being lined up to face former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 332.
Figueiredo has previously trained alongside Talbott’s last opponent, Henry Cejudo, and has won one of his last five outings in the bantamweight division.
‘Deus Da Guerra’ is another notable name for the 11-1 contender to face, with many fans likely seeing this matchup as being similar to the Cejudo one that took place last December.
Immediate reactions to the report made reference to the UFC clearly attempting to continue Talbott’s ascent, with one comment comparing his run to WWE star Randy Orton’s ‘legend killer’ gimmick.

Other matchups like Ateba Gautier vs Roman Kopylov have been reported for this card in Salt Lake City, though there hasn’t been any news regarding a potential main event.
