Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett’s future is quietly one of the biggest storylines of the offseason. As one of the highest-paid players in football, the pass rusher is said to have been unhappy in Ohio for a while now. Nonetheless, the Browns are rumored to have a chance to offload him for profit ahead of the season, but they’ll have to act quickly.

Browns DE Myles Garrett Is Drawing Strong Interest From the Rams

Garrett is playing on a four-year, $160 million extension that he signed in 2025. He booked yet another sensational campaign last year, with career highs in multiple categories. However, given how dissatisfied he is with his stay in Cleveland, the rumor mill is linking him to a move to a playoff-caliber team.

One team that’s been aggressive this offseason in bolstering its defense is the Los Angeles Rams. As one of the top Super Bowl contenders heading into the 2026 season, Sean McVay’s side isn’t waiting around to load up on talent this offseason.

Browns analyst Tony Rizzo commented on rumors linking Garrett to the Rams, explaining why a trade could materialize.

“You know what I’m hearing?” he said on “The Tony Rizzo Show.” “Who’s the team that’s all-in? Who’s the team that’s got a quarterback that’s on a two-year deal, but really a one-year deal, who’s won a Super Bowl before? Who went and traded for a pair of starting corners? Who drafted for the future with their quarterback, but is all-in this year? It’s the Rams.”

With Matthew Stafford already 38, the Rams have to make win-now moves to maximize their chances of making a run at the Super Bowl. This offseason, they have already added two-time Super Bowl champion cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson to bolster the secondary, one via trade, and the other through free agency.

Rizzo further laid out a realistic situation in which Garrett could find his way to the West Coast.

BE AN NFL GM: PFSN’s Ultimate GM Simulator

“Does it mean Myles Garret is gonna get traded? No. Probably not,” he said. “70-30 — no [for odds that Garrett gets traded]. But 30 is real. What could [the Browns] get? I’d start with three No. 1s and work our way from there. If they [the Rams] are gonna deny three ones, give me two ones and what? In other words, two ones are not gonna cut it. This is the No. 1 defensive player in the league, in his prime. Now is the time to do it.”

It’ll be interesting to see whether the Browns’ ambition to capitalize on Garrett’s value is as big as the Rams’ to win a Super Bowl. The pass rusher logged a 95.6 PFSN EDGE Impact Score in 2025 en route to bagging his second Defensive Player of the Year award.
