Former UFC champion Aljamain Sterling has explained why Jean Silva shouldn’t receive a world title opportunity.
When you talk about big characters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Jean Silva is up there with the best of them. While he may not be to everyone’s taste, he goes in the cage with the intention of putting on a show for the fans.

Of course, Jean Silva has had his setbacks, as is the case with most fighters in the UFC. Still, nobody can deny that he is a box office attraction, even at this point in his run.
In a recent interview, though, Aljamain Sterling took issue with the idea that Jean Silva should be in line for a crack at the belt.
Aljamain Sterling on Jean Silva’s future
“He had a great win – well, finish,” Sterling said of Silva on “The Ariel Helwani Show.” “It was a tough performance against a guy who stepped up on short notice – tall, rangy, young kid, as well. He was calling for a title shot, and I think he might think I have bad blood against him. No dude. We’re trying to do the same thing here. So if you think you’re next and I think I’m next, let’s figure it out. It’s nothing bigger than that.”
“Hell no,” Sterling said about Silva getting a title shot. “He better fight someone else. What I honestly think it’s going to come down to is who looks the best these next coming months, and then who wins the title fight between Movsar and the champ, Volkanovski.”
