Last Saturday’s event on Netflix was a big success, but not everyone has come out of it totally happy.

Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions entered the MMA game on May 16 with a stacked card at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

Ronda Rousey submitted Gina Carano in 17 seconds to conclude the event, with Mike Perry and Francis Ngannou emerging victorious from the other two headlining matchups.

The promotion has already mentioned potential next fights for all of the above, but they might struggle to get another undercard fighter back after how he claims they treated him.

Among the top performers on May 16 was Jason Jackson, a former Bellator champion who was competing for the first time since leaving the PFL this year.

Jackson, who is the only man to have beaten UFC star Yaroslav Amosov in MMA, knocked out Jefferson Creighton during the prelims.

But that card placement is evidently one of the things that agitated the Jamaican fighter about his experience under the Most Valuable Promotions banner.

“From what I was kind of (seeing), it was just more the (former) UFC fighters being treated like the valuable fighters,” Jackson said during a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show.

“Maybe I need to go to the UFC and make a statement, then probably come back to MVP and show them I am a valuable player.

“I didn’t feel like I was treated like it,” he continued. “I ain’t been on a prelim card since forever. I’ve been in main events, Bellator, PFL — championship fights.

“So for me to be in that position, I was like, ‘Wow, this is disrespect.’”

Before rebounding last Saturday, Jackson lost to PFL star Thad Jean in the semifinal of the promotion’s welterweight tournament last June. The 35-year-old is now 20-6 as a pro and has never lost back-to-back fights.

Many were shocked to see Jackson picked up by MVP instead of the UFC. With the May 16 card marking a one-fight deal, the door could now be open for the former world champion to make his way to the Octagon.
