Jake Paul mocks Khabib Nurmagomedov in first meeting since callout for crossover fight

Jake Paul pulled out an awkward impression of Khabib Nurmagomedov as the pair came face-to-face tonight in New York.

Boxing star Paul announced earlier this week that his MVP MMA will be merging with PFL starting next year for a partnership that looks to take on the UFC. He showed up at tonight’s event at UBS Arena to launch the deal, and will be watching as Usman Nurmagomedov takes on Archie Colgan.

Prior to that big fight, he made a visit to the champion’s dressing room where he met their star-studded backroom team. However, even Islam Makhachev didn’t seem to concern him as he made a beeline for the legendary Nurmagomedov.

Flanked by his business partner Nakisa Bidarian, Jake Paul was keen to spend some time with Khabib Nurmagomedov tonight at the first PFL event since his big announcement. President Donald Trump has indicated that he would like to see the pair fight, which Paul insists he would be willing to do.

There appeared to be respect from the Russian as he embraced Paul behind the scenes before telling him that he feels the deal between PFL and MVP MMA is “amazing” and “good for MMA”. They shared some more small talk about bonuses before a very awkward moment was caught on camera.

Paul appeared to do an impression of Nurmagomedov’s voice while reciting Islam Makhachev’s infamous phrase that he would train for “two-three years” in Dagestan. The legendary UFC champion corrected him and appeared to find the entire interaction funny.
