An update has been issued on Jake Hager’s health via a fellow former WWE wrestler.
Blood started to come out of Hager’s eye after he took a big hit when competing in Power Slap on September 17 in Texas.
The incredibly concerning and unique nature of the injury led to the clip of the incident making the rounds on social media.
After Dana White described it as probably worse than any UFC injury, it looks like the former WWE star is slowly making progress.

Jake Hager recovery update issued by fellow former WWE star
It was revealed last month that Jake Hager underwent emergency eye surgery following the scary end to his recent Power Slap loss.
This was the former WWE champion’s third match in the promotion, with him alternating wins and losses in his first two outings.
Nicholas Cvjetkovich, who was known in WWE as Kizarny, recently issued an update on Hager, according to Slap News on Instagram.
They wrote that he has some vision restored in his left eye after suffering from a globe rupture and significant globe tear.
“Sinn Bodhi [Cvjetkovich] revealed Jake can see out of his left eye after suffering a gruesome globe rupture at Power Slap 23 n Lubbock, Texas last month,” the post stated. “The extent to which Jake’s vision will be restored is unknown at this time and he may require additional surgeries.”

As stated in the post, it remains unclear when Hager will be able to make a full recovery and whether he plans on competing again.
The former Bellator fighter had spent years wrestling for several different promotions before signing to Power Slap earlier this year.
A doctor advised Hager to walk away from Power Slap after this injury due to the risk of further damage due to the lack of the ability to defend yourself in that ruleset.
