Darren Till has encountered some difficulties when it comes to finding willing bodies.

Till joked for years that he wouldn’t fight Yoel Romero while both men were signed to the UFC due to how intimidating the middleweight contender is.

A matchup between them inside the Octagon would have been big, but with both men departing the leading MMA promotion, Till will face Romero in BKFC instead.

‘The Gorilla’ was honest when recently explaining to Bloody Elbow that his training for this huge clash hasn’t exactly been going to plan.

Darren Till might have to spar Yoel Romero to prepare for their fight due to lack of training partners

Darren Till impressed BKFC boss Dave Feldman in his debut because he showed resilience when coming back from a knockdown to win the fight.

‘The Gorilla’ likely won’t be able to make the same mistakes when facing a striker as dangerous as Yoel Romero on September 26.

In a series of social media posts via his Instagram story, Till has been expressing frustrations over the past few days regarding not being able to find sparring partners.

The former UFC welterweight title challenger put out a request asking for people to respond if they’re able to briefly join his camp to help him prepare for BKFC 94.

Before coming face-to-face with Romero at the first press conference, Till told Bloody Elbow that this continues to be a problem for him.

“I’ve had a bit of luck, a couple of people have put their names forward but yeah, I’ve been struggling really hard for sparring partners,” he said. “I don’t know why, just no one wants to spar. I might have to ask Yoel to spar for this fight.”

Darren Till is very aware of the threat that Yoel Romero poses

Darren Till has proved in various rulesets that he’s an incredibly dangerous opponent to stand and strike with.

That being said, he knows that Yoel Romero is also a formidable opponent whom he needs to prepare correctly for in order to defeat in Manchester, England.

Till acknowledged this when being asked by Bloody Elbow whether he thinks Romero is the toughest fight out there for him in BKFC.

“Yeah, I think you look at like Lorenzo Hunt and Mike Perry, they are very tough guys,” he replied. “But, I think with Yoel, there’s just something differently made. He’s just built completely different and yeah, I think he’s probably going to be the toughest guy to fight.”
