Ons Jabeur has warmed hearts across the tennis world, including Coco Gauff, Chris Evert, and Emma Raducanu, with a joyful update about her personal life. The Tunisian announced the birth of her first child with husband, Karim Kamoun, drawing an outpouring of love and support from her fellow players.

Jabeur last competed on tour at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, where she was forced to retire from her first-round match against Viktoriya Tomova due to injury. Soon after, she announced her decision to take a break from professional tennis, admitting that she “hadn’t truly felt happy” on the court for some time and needed space to recover.

During her time away, the Tunisian disclosed that she was expecting her first child with husband, Karim Kamoun, and was inundated with congratulatory messages from her peers. Naomi Osaka, Paula Badosa, and Taylor Townsend were among those who expressed their delight for the former world No. 2.

Jabeur thrilled the tennis world once more by announcing the birth of her son, Elyan, alongside a touching photograph from the hospital of their family of three.

“A tiny miracle, a lifetime of love 🤍 Welcoming our baby boy, Elyan Kammoun 20/04/2026,” Jabeur captioned her Instagram post.

The 31-year-old was promptly met with a wave of affection from her fellow players, with Coco Gauff, Elina Svitolina, Leylah Fernandez, and Emma Raducanu extending their heartfelt congratulations. Paula Badosa also penned an emotional message, saying she “can’t wait” to meet Elyan.

Furthermore, Chris Evert penned a touching note for Jabeur and her husband, writing, “A big Congratulations to Ons, Karim and baby Elyan! So happy for you… A new life has begun for all of you.”

What Are Ons Jabeur’s Plans for Her Tennis Future After Motherhood?

Despite feeling the need to step away from professional tennis, Jabeur has no intention of giving up the sport for good just yet. While speaking to Vogue Arabia in March, she expressed her desire to return to the tour but emphasized that she will give her body the time to recover after giving birth.

“I want to give myself the time to see how my body will react. I don’t want to rush into it. But I definitely would want to go back on tour and compete for a couple of more years,” she said.

The Tunisian also opened up about her hopes for her son, saying, “I always say my game reflects my character. That’s who I am. Being a kid is fun, and I want our son to have that. I want him to be creative, to make jokes. Most important is that he’s a good person and makes a change in the world.”
