Ciryl Gane has once again been called out for illegal fouls.

This past Sunday in the UFC Freedom 250 co-main event, Ciryl Gane once again became the interim heavyweight champion when he knocked out Alex Pereira in the second round.

The Frenchman put on a complete display, stopping ‘Poatan’ from making UFC history by becoming the first ever three weight world champion.

But according to the reaction from fans online, he did so by once again fouling his way to the win, which is a reputation he seemingly cannot knock.

Gane accused of landing strikes to the back of Pereira’s head on way to knockout

Throughout the build-up to his fight against the Brazilian star, ‘Bon Gamin’ has consistently found himself being faced with questions regarding his history of fouling his opponents.

Pereira even said before the fight that Gane needs to make adjustments to stop his frequent fouling.

His recent rival Tom Aspinall has continuously labeled him as a ‘cheat’ following their fight in October.

And despite scoring one of the biggest wins of his career this Sunday on the South Lawn of the White House, Gane is once again facing accusations of illegally fouling his opponent.

“Listen, Ciryl Gane was absolutely fantastic from the start of that fight, he dominated it and he pieced up Alex Pereira, but what is the point in having illegal fouls in this sport if we’re not gonna call them out? How many shots to the back of the head?” UFC reporter Adam Caterall suggested in a video online.

After knocking Pereira down in the second round, Gane transitioned to a front head-lock position, and from there, he rained down ground-and-pound elbows, with a large portion of the fanbase under the belief that a lot of the shots landed on the back of Pereira’s head.

“Thank you, someone finally pointed it out,” one fan commented.

“So many back of the head shots… and conveniently left out of the replays,” said another fan.

“It’s every single fight with Ciryl,” a third fan suggested.

“Holy f—, he hit Pereira in the back of the head like 15 times,” a fan on X pointed out.

Popular MMA content creator MMA Guru has also led an attack on Gane, calling him the ‘dirtiest fighter in UFC history’.

“Ciryl Gane is a soulless filthy cheat and is the dirtiest fighter in UFC history,” the controversial figure said in a post on X.

Despite the general consensus being that the Frenchman once again fouled his way to victory, it has set him up for what will be a huge rematch against Tom Aspinall.

‘Bon Gamin’ is pushing for the fight to take place in Paris in September on the recently announced return to the City of Love, with Dana White admitting that he will consider that prospect.
