Bella Mir’s mom has walked back her comments regarding her daughter’s loss on Dana White’s Contender Series.
This past Tuesday, Dana White’s Contender Series week 3 of season 10 went down from the newly revamped UFC Apex.
In the main event, Frank Mir’s daughter Bella Mir fought in front of Dana White for a UFC contract, coming into her fight as the biggest women’s favorite in DWCS history.
Despite being such a huge favorite, though, ‘Lady’ Mir was handed her first professional loss by Alex Apodaca, who went on to be awarded a UFC contract.

Bella Mir’s mom issues apology after distasteful comments on social media
Following the fight, the UFC boss admitted that he went into the week with a big bias towards Mir having known her for several years.
And after suffering her first loss, the 23-year-old left the arena and wasn’t spoken to by the media in the post-fight press conference.
Her mom, though, almost immediately took to social media to give her opinions on the fight, exploding on the judges and also criticizing Apodaca for celebrating her big win.
In one post, Mir’s mom boasted about the fact that her daughter had given Apodaca a black eye, claiming that the ‘stars aligned’ for Apodaca and that ‘you never know who’s pulling the strings’ with judging.
Now just a day removed from her distasteful comments on social media, Mrs Mir has walked back her comments and has issued a public apology to the 32-year-old winner.
“I want to address the comments I made after the fight,” Mir’s mom said on social media.
“But first, I want to give you all a very deserved explanation. After the fight, I went on to Bella’s comments and saw comments telling my daughter to die and kill herself. I reacted as purely an emotional and protective mother after seeing my daughter go through such a hard loss and let the alcohol and adrenaline get the better of me.
“However, that is ZERO excuse. I want to sincerely apologize Alex Apodaca, her team, the judges, and the fans. Alex fought a brilliant fight and earned that win fair and square and deserves nothing but respect.
“My out-of-line comments were entirely my own and do not reflect Bella and her team, or the values she trains by. I am stepping back from social media to let Bella focus on her recovery and I ask everyone to direct their frustration towards me and not my daughter,” she continued.

Bella Mir also broke her silence after her loss
In a totally opposite reaction to her mom’s, Mir lived up to her ‘Lady’ moniker by releasing a classy statement following her historic loss.
Having been involved from combat sports from such a young age, the 23-year-old has suffered losses before, but none on a grander stage that Tuesday night.
Despite that, still being in her early 20’s, it is likely that Mir will rebound from her loss, and that won’t be the end of her story in the UFC.
