MMA veteran Patricio Pitbull has explained why he still believes he can make a run at a UFC world championship.
Courtesy of his recent win, Patricio Pitbull is back in the conversation at featherweight. The former Bellator sensation is certainly in the twilight of his career, but even with that being the case, he is still able to put on great performances in the cage.

In terms of what’s next, it doesn’t feel like Patricio Pitbull is in line for a crack at the belt – but in his mind, it won’t be too long before he becomes undeniable.
In a recent interview, Patricio Pitbull had the following to say about what the future could hold for him.
Patricio Pitbull talks about title push
“The age of the champs has changed a little bit, but recently we’ve seen most of the title holders were over 35 years old,” Freire told MMA Junkie through an interpreter. “And size has come a long way and the way we perform, the way that we train. That gives us longevity, the ones who take care of themselves. So yes, I see myself making another title run. I still feel like I have a lot in the tank and that’s what I’m pursuing.”
Pitbull went on to talk about knowing that he needed to perform in his most recent outing.
“For sure, the UFC can even let go of fighters coming off wins as you can see many times if they’re not pleased with what they’re seeing,” Freire said. “So that was in the back of my mind. I knew I had to perform because if you’re an organization and you don’t like to see how a fighter is performing, you’re not keeping him.
“So I knew I didn’t just have to win – I needed to perform. But the main factor was myself, how I would feel with how the fight went, because I wasn’t even 1 percent satisfied with all my three performances in the UFC before that. I’m my biggest judge. I analyze everything, I value everything, and I wasn’t feeling it. So it wasn’t just about the UFC. It was mostly if I would be satisfied with myself with how this fight went.”
