  • Earlier this week, Nike and Beats announced a first-ever collaboration: the Nike x Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones.

EARLIER THIS WEEK, Beats and Nike announced a historic first-ever hardware collaboration. Starting today, you can shop the Powerbeats Pro 2 Nike Special Edition, so you can keep your head in the game and everyone else out.

Nike x Beats Powerbeats Pro 2

The limited-edition release comes in Nike’s iconic highlighter yellow colorway, “volt,” paired with a matte black, volt-speckled charging case. Nike’s “Just Do It” mantra is printed on the inside of the case lid. For the first time, Beats has shared its branding with Nike’s Swoosh, with the Swoosh on the right bud and the Beats “b” on the left.

While the color and aesthetic are new, the earbuds have the same industry-leading audio tech as the Powerbeats Pro 2 that we know and love. The earbuds feature active noise cancelling, transparency mode, a built-in heart rate monitor, and wrap-around ear hooks. The goal of the collaboration was to build a performance tool that bridges the gap between elite sport and street style.

To accompany the launch, Beats brand ambassador LeBron James stars in a comedic campaign video as he trades the court for the golf course. “I’ve been part of the Beats journey since day one with the original Powerbeats, and the Powerbeats Pro 2 represent everything I need in my daily routine, whether I’m training, recovering, or just living life,” James said in the press release.

Our editors rated the Powerbeats Pro 2 as the best ear hook workout headphones, noting their comfortable fit, heart rate monitor insights, and intuitive controls. The headphones also boast up to 45 hours of battery life when paired with the charging case.

“During testing, these headphones felt glued to our ears—even during a windy run—and didn’t flinch after getting drenched in sweat thanks to the IPX4 rating,” Men’s Health contributor Brandon Russell writes in his review. “The softer plastic avoids that slimy feel after intense workouts, allowing them to quickly transition from the gym to the office.”

Starting today, the Nike x Powerbeats Pro 2 are available to shop for $250 on apple.com and nike.com, and in select Apple Stores.
