The Milwaukee Bucks desperately needed a spark. On a night where their offense stalled for long stretches, the new entrant, Cam Thomas, delivered an explosion, leaving the Bucks’ superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo impressed.
Cam Thomas Delivers the Dagger As Giannis Antetokounmpo Looks In Disbelief
Milwaukee secured a 116-108 win over the Orlando Magic at the Kia Center, splitting their quick two-game set and picking up a much-needed victory against a team above .500. But the story wasn’t just the result. It was the arrival of a microwave scorer who may have changed the energy around the team overnight.
The Milwaukee Bucks finally closed out a tight game, with Cam Thomas making sure there was absolutely no doubt about it.
In just his second game with Milwaukee, Thomas erupted for 34 points off the bench, punctuating his performance with a cold-blooded 3-pointer in the final seconds against the Orlando Magic. As the shot splashed through the net, the Bucks’ bench went into celebration mode. As Thomas moved towards the bench, everyone applauded his final dagger.
Amidst the crowd, Antetokounmpo appeared, looking at Thomas in disbelief, supremely impressed by his caliber. They came closer, shook hands, and there was nothing but a wide grin spread across the Greek Freak’s face. It was excitement tinged with relief.

The reaction, for obvious reasons, quickly went viral online. It felt like Giannis’ faith in his team was restored once again, for yet another reason.
The Bucks have struggled offensively throughout the season, including stretches in this very game where they went more than five minutes without a field goal. Having a player who can create instant offense and confidently take (and make) big shots is something Milwaukee has desperately needed.
Thomas, known for his precise scoring ability during his time in Brooklyn, showed exactly why the Bucks took a chance on him.
“He’s literally a microwave,” teammate Kevin Porter Jr. said. “First thing he said when he introduced himself, he said, ‘I’m a bucket.’ We want him to be just that.”
A Rare Bright Spot for Milwaukee
The win improved Milwaukee to 22-30, though they remain 12th in the Eastern Conference and outside the playoff picture. Still, it was a much-needed response after recent struggles.
Thomas overcame a rough first quarter, where he started 1-for-5, and finished strong. He added eight points in the fourth quarter alone, chipping in four rebounds and two assists, finishing as a plus-6 in his debut performance spread across 25 minutes.
For a franchise searching for consistency, Thomas’ scoring explosion and Giannis’ viral reaction offered a glimpse of something promising.
If nothing else, Milwaukee may have found someone willing to take and make the big shot when it matters most.
