Mathilde Favier was much more than just Dior’s public relations director: She was one of the leading figures in Parisian social life, a woman capable of bringing together movie stars, designers, and cultural figures. It was no surprise that she was always said to have the best social calendar in all of Paris. Her death in a tragic car accident last August was followed by a funeral held at the Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris; it brought together leading figures from high society, politics, and the fashion world. Beatrice Borromeo, Brigitte Macron, Claudia Schiffer, Carla Bruni, and businessman Bernard Arnault were in attendance. Her latest tribute once again took place in Paris, this time at the Dior summer 2027 collection fashion show, presented by Jonathan Anderson in the Tuileries Garden, after which her daughter, Héloïse Agostinelli, shared a heartfelt message on Instagram.
“Seeing Dior dedicate its collection to my beautiful mother was an experience I will never forget,” Agostinelli wrote. “To see her name, her spirit, as well as the love and loyalty she gave to Dior, honoured in such a beautiful and meaningful way was something I will cherish forever,” she added.
In her message, Agostinelli also revealed the personal significance the fashion house has held in her life. “Dior has never been just a Maison to me. It has been a place filled with memories, friendships, and people who, over the years, have become like family.” Her words show just how much Favier’s relationship with the house went beyond the professional realm and extended to her inner circle.

Favier’s daughter wanted to extend a special thanks to Delphine Arnault for her affection, generosity, and support for the family—which she describes as a vital source of strength during this difficult time. She also dedicated a few words to Anderson, the creator of the tribute, for capturing the essence of her mother in such a special moment. “My mother embodied elegance and grace, and yesterday I truly felt her spirit,” she writes about the fashion show.
However, the most moving moment in her post comes at the end, when Agostinelli addressed her mother directly, whom she affectionately calls Moon. “Moon, I wish you could have seen it. I know your heart would have been so full,” she wrote. She continued with a declaration of love that is also a promise to keep her mother’s memory alive: “Your light, your love, and your magic continue to live on in all those whose lives you touched. Je t’aime à l’infini [I love you to infinity] and you will NEVER be forgotten. I will make sure of it. All of us will.”

Her words capture Favier’s most intimate legacy: the affection of those who shared her life, the friendships she nurtured, and the mark she left on the world of fashion.
