The New York Jets are hosting the Cleveland Browns in a rainy Week 5 matchup. Browns fans are already aggravated with how the game has started after rookie WR KC Concepcion was hit in the head by Jets safety Minkah Fitzpatrick while trying to reel in a pass.
Fans called for action after they believed the hit was dirty, and this isn’t the first time they’ve felt hard done by a questionable Fitzpatrick hit.
Browns Fans Want Action for Minkah Fitzpatrick’s Hit on KC Concepcion
Fitzpatrick had a couple of penalties called on him for different infractions on Concepcion. He ripped off his helmet, and a few plays later, Fitzpatrick was flagged for unnecessary roughness on his big hit on Concepcion, who was down for a while with a head injury.

Shortly after exiting, Concepcion was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
“He needs to be kicked out of the league,” said one fan about Fitzpatrick.

“How is this dirty player still allowed in the league?” said a Browns fan.

Concepcion ranks 81st in PFN’s WR Impact Metric. The rookie has slowly found his footing in his first few weeks. The Browns are going to have to rely on their other receivers to take down the Jets in Week 5. It’s going to be on the shoulders of Denzel Boston, Isaiah Bond, and TE Harold Fannin Jr. to carry the receiving load.
Fitzpatrick already has a contentious history with Browns fans because his 2023 tackle resulted in Nick Chubb’s severe knee injury, although Chubb later said he did not consider that hit dirty.
Chubb tore multiple ligaments in his knee after Fitzpatrick dove at his legs while he was wrapped up by another Steeler. Chubb was never the same player after he was injured, and Browns fans hold plenty of hate in their heart because of that. Now, he’s injured another one of their beloved players.

The Browns didn’t retaliate. Instead, they used the penalty yards to threaten the Jets in the red zone but failed to punch it in, settling for a field goal.
The Browns will be playing for their rookie receiver as they try to enact revenge by winning the game.
