The 12th and final episode of Neko to Ryuu (The Cat and the Dragon) ended with an announcement on Saturday that a second season is in production. The series director, Jin-koo Oh drew an illustrations to commemorate the announcement (pictured). The anime series will premiere in 2027.
Produced by OLM, the first anime season adapting Amara‘s fantasy light novel aired in 12 episodes on July 4. Crunchyroll simulcasted the anime with subtitles in multiple languages.
Amara began writing the fantasy story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September 2013. Takarajimasha began publishing the light novel in April 2016, with illustrations by Mai Okuma. The tenth volume was released on August 26. The series has a cumulative 1.4 million copies of its volumes in circulation.
A manga adaptation by Izumi Sasaki began serializing on the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! Web in September 2017. The 13th volume went on sale on July 24.
