Atlantic Records and Rockstar Games have unveiled the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack to the forthcoming installment in the groundbreaking video game franchise.
On Thursday (Sept. 17), Atlantic and Rockstar announced that Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album will arrive on November 19, the same day as the highly anticipated video game’s release date. Six of the thirty-four songs on the album were also released amid the news, including tracks led by Travis Scott, Yung Lean, Morgan Wallen, and more.
Scott, whose 2013 track “Upper Echelon” appeared on Radio Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto V, appears on the new song “RHYNO,” produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Yung Lean headlines “That’s It” featuring Future and Metro Boomin, and Morgan Wallen adds a solo inclusion with “Last Thing You Need.”
Additional tracks released in support of the album include songs by Rauw Alejandro (“Macacoa 2000”), Keith Richards (“Bright Lights, Big City”), and a star-studded posse cut featuring CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, PinkPantheress, Fred again.., & Etienne de Crécy (“Sexy Magic”).
Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album pre-orders are currently available, and the album will launch with multiple vinyl and CD offerings.
According to a press release, these items will include Atlantic Records exclusives: a limited-edition liquid-filled vinyl, a splatter edition vinyl, and a CD jewel case – each featuring exclusive new artwork and packaging designs that echo the iconic style of Grand Theft Auto VI, plus various retail exclusives for Blood Records, Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, Urban Outfitters, and Indie record stores — each with a distinct vinyl pressing design and poster.
Among the most successful video game franchises of all-time, Grand Theft Auto’s incorporation of music into its gameplay and user experience has bolstered its popularity, as GTA Radio has become a staple among gamers and musicians alike.
