Arizona heads to New York with Love 13th among running backs in PFN’s Week 4 rankings after a 26-touch afternoon against the Niners that included his second score in three weeks. Consecutive games without a 10-yard touch is a minor red flag given how central explosiveness was to his scouting profile, though we see wonky two-game stretches like that constantly. The bigger signal is that Arizona loaded him with work while punching well above its weight class. Against a defense allowing 2.1 yards before contact to opposing backs, third-most in the league, he is a fringe RB1 for me.

Love touched the ball 26 times last week against the Niners and scored for the second time in three weeks. The lack of any spice to this profile is a minor red flag given how big a part of his scouting profile that was (consecutive games without a 10-yard touch), though we see wonky two-game stretches like this happen all of the time.
The fact that Arizona loaded him up with work as they punched well above their weight class is a great sign. There are natural limitations that come with this offense, but none of which are going to stop me from considering Love as a fringe RB1 against a New York defense that is allowing the third-most yards before contact to opposing backs this season (2.1 yards).
