Despite reports of on-set drama between its stars, MobLand was renewed for a third season last week. It’s a nice show of faith from Paramount+, seeing as the second hasn’t even dropped yet.
If you need a refresher, MobLand is a crime drama following a large crime family, based in London, who find themselves in an escalating conflict with a rival gang. Each family member is as violent, messy, and volatile as the other—and it’s the family’s street-smart fixer who has to clean up their mess before the rivalry escalates into a full-on war.
The Paramount+ series boasts a gargantuan ensemble cast, including Tom Hardy as Harry (the family’s fixer), Joanne Froggatt as his wife, Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Jasmine Jobson, and Helen Mirren as members of the criminal Harrigan family.
Last spring, MobLand wrapped up with a lot of wit, a lot of stabbing, and (spoiler alert) one big boss leaving prison. It’ll surely get even more chaotic from here on out—and we’re very much seated for it. The first episode of MobLand season 2 will arrive next Friday, September 18, with episodes dropping weekly after that until Friday, November 20. The first season is available to stream now in full on Paramount+, and the second will land on the same platform.
