Josh Hokit believes one of the UFC’s top heavyweights should be cut from the roster.
The former NFL star was recently riled up by comments made by perennial contender Alexander Volkov.
On Wednesday, ‘Drago’ went viral after being asked about Josh Hokit’s upcoming title fight with Ciryl Gane at UFC 334 on November 14.

What did Alexander Volkov say?
Alexander Volkov sarcastically congratulated the UFC for giving Josh Hokit a shot at MMA’s greatest prize.
The 6ft 7in Russian explained why he was happy to miss out on a third fight with Ciryl Gane during a hilarious appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show.
“I want to be honest with you. I’m very supportive of this fight from the UFC,” Volkov said on Wednesday.
“I have a lot of reasons that this fight should happen because Josh Hokit, from what I know about him, is clearly dealing with some mental illness. So, it’s very admirable for UFC to put a guy with a serious mental condition in a title shot.
“Of course he should go in front of me. Guys with this kind of reason should fight first.
“For him, it’s not possible to beat somebody in the Top 5 right now, so this is the easiest way for an American heavyweight to get a title shot.
“It’s an incredibly inspiring story of a guy with mental illness who can fight for the heavyweight title. I very much support UFC with that. It’s a noble thing for UFC to do for him with his mental problem.”

Josh Hokit bites back
Alexander Volkov has won two fights in a row since suffering a controversial split decision defeat against Ciryl Gane in December 2024.
The 37-year-old could secure a title shot by beating Rizvan Kuniev at UFC 333 on October 24.
However, Josh Hokit thinks Volkov should be dropped by the UFC due to his ‘boring’ fighting style.
“Maybe he should catch my ‘mental illness’ since he lost to the last 2 guys I beat,” Hokit wrote alongside a crying laughing emoji.
“Has anyone ever watched a Volkov fight all the way through? He’s lucky to still be on the roster.
“Should have cut his boring a– when they cut [Jailton] Almeida.”
